Palo Alto College recruits more math, science majors - San Antonio Business Journal:

million grant from the U.S. Department of Education’s Colleg Cost Reduction and Access Act to help increase student successwin science, technology, engineerint and math (STEM). The South Side communith college will use the money to invesr in an outdoor Science Exploration Laboratory hire additional tutors in math and upgrade two labs and provide professionall development opportunitiesfor science, technology, engineerinb and math faculty members, says Yolanda Palo Alto’s director of institutionaol advancement.
The grant will also allow the college to strengthenm partnerships with the University of Texas at San Antonik and theTexas A&M University — System Centet in San Antonio. Palo Alto will work to improve graduatioh and transfer ratesof under-represented minorityh students in these career Palo Alto College is a membert of the Alamo Community College District. The college offers associate short-term certificates and non-credit continuing educationn classes.
